Featured Employee

We are happy to introduce you to our Senior Architect, Nathan Brown! Nathan enjoys being part of the team that helps make Sego Homes one of Utah’s premier home builders. He loves seeing his 2D drawings transformed into beautiful homes. Let’s learn a little more about Nathan…

What is your role at Sego Homes?

I am an in-house architect. My role is to assist in developing floorplans and creating construction documents complying with the building code so that the construction team can receive building permits and construct our beautiful homes.

What do you like most about working at Sego and/or your specific role?

I really like the team environment at Sego Homes. We each work together in our various roles to get the job done. In my specific role, I love seeing drawings that I have worked diligently on go through the process of construction.

What is one thing you wish everyone knew about Sego?

I think a lot of people already know this, but Sego really has the best interest of the future home buyers in mind. Sego is a production home builder, but our product feels much more custom because of the attention to detail and thought that goes into the design and trying to anticipate the needs of future homeowners.

Where did you grow up?  Tell us about your family.

I was born and raised in Utah. I grew up in Orem, and am the youngest of six kids. My wife, Angelle, and I live in Eagle Mountain with our four beautiful daughters.

How do you spend your free time outside of work?

When not at work I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughters. I also love singing and am part of a barbershop quartet and barbershop chorus.

What would someone be surprised to know about you?

I love problem-solving and seeing other people’s solutions – which probably isn’t too surprising. But, because of this, I actually enjoy watching Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) – which some may find surprising. I find it interesting to see how the fighters analyze their opponent and strategize to win the match.

Tell us about someone you admire?

I have always admired my Dad. He never stops learning. He will often sign up for various college or certification courses just to learn something new or refresh his knowledge. His love of learning has kept his mind and memory very sharp.

What is your favorite book? Movie?

I enjoy historical fiction because it weaves in historic events to bring the stories to life. My favorite movie is While You Were Sleeping. Lots of quotable ‘one-liners’ and inside jokes with my siblings in that movie.
