DIY Minute Maintenance Tips: Disposal Options

Sometimes, you accidentally put the wrong item down your kitchen sink disposal… or something simply gets stuck. The good news is that despite the temporary annoyance, a jammed disposal can be fixed quickly and easily. In part six of our DIY Minute Maintenance Tips series, we’re going to teach you how to safely unplug and manually turn the blades of your kitchen sink disposal, so it’ll go back to working efficiently in no time!

  1. Unplug the disposal from the outlet beneath your sink
  2. Once the disposal is unplugged, use the provided tool to manually turn the blades in order to clear the disposal of any debris
  3. Once you’re done, plug your disposal into the wall outlet
  4. Make sure you have a constant flow of water when you turn on and off your disposal
