DIY Minute Maintenance Tips: Drywall Repair

Drywall Repair

We’re all spending more time at home these days. This means that occasionally, the walls of your home may get scratched, dinged or dented. In another installment of our DIY Minute Maintenance Tips, you can learn how to use drywall spackle to repair damaged drywall.

To patch a whole in your drywall, use drywall-specific spackle:

  1. Generously apply the spackle on the damaged area.
  2. Let the spackle completely dry for a period of 2 to 4 hours depending on the size of the dent.
  3. Once the spackle is dry, gently sand any extra spackle off so you have a smooth finish for painting.
  4. After you have sanded the area, you are ready to prime or paint.

It’s as simple as that! In no time at all, you’ll be smoothing (and sanding) like a pro. We hope you are enjoying winter and the warmth of your comfortable Sego home! Stay tuned for more tips.
